Programme Description

This is an eight-week immersive Chinese language training programme revolving around "Chinese Language Enhancement & Cultural Exprience." The programme, which consists of four main components: Chinese language enhancement courses, cultural lectures, cultural experiences, and local and cultural site visits, aims at developing students' comprehensive Chinese skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing through a multi-layered course design and learning tasks.
 
Cultural instruction is an integral part of Chinese language teaching, achieving an integration of "language" and "culture." The programme combines theory with practice, providing learners with opportunities to use Chinese and experience Chinese culture in real-life situations.
 

Objectives for Chinese Learners

  1. Complete the Standard Course HSK 3 textbook + workbook.
  2. Enhance comprehensive Chinese language proficiency in terms of oral Chinese skill and comprehension skills.
  3. Explore Jingchu cultures, understand the essence of Chu culture and inspire passion for Chinese culture and its practical applications.
  4. Fully experience China and accumulate valuable China-related insights and experiences

Duration

  • Session 1: June 15 - July 12 (4 weeks)
  • Session 2: July 13 - August 9 (4 weeks)

Eligibility

  • Being a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China;
  • 18 years of age or older by the start of the program;
  • Studied at least two semesters of Chinese language at the university level can apply Session 1.
  • Studied at least three semesters of Chinese language at the university level can apply Session 2.

Application Fee: 300 RMB*

Program Fees:

  • Session 1: 7000 RMB
  • Session 2: 7000 RMB

The program fee includes Chinese Language class delivery, course materials, accommodation fee (double room in international dormitory), Chinese culture experience, and tickets for site visits. Please note that the fee excludes round-trip airfares, transportation fees during the stay, overseas travel accident insurance fees, visa application fees, meals, and any other living and personal expenses.
