About the Students
My name is Somaria Maharaj. I am a 1st year undergraduate, studying Psychology and English Language and Linguistics. For this Women’s Day takeover, I wanted to focus on Latina and Caribbean women as they are rarely displayed and this is an opportunity to increase awareness of their important contributions to our society.
My name is Michelah Brown, I am a second year PhD Student in the Film and Theatre program; studying the Metaphysical Dilemma of the Black Body in Film. I wanted to take part in this International Woman’s Day event, because I wanted to give representation for women of color on campus.
