2026 marks the 575th anniversary of the University of Glasgow. As a way for the University to celebrate itself, Tawona Sitholé has embarked on a quest to gather stories from the University and, together with a team of students and staff, shape these stories into a performance through the process of devising. The play is called The Lion & The Unicorn - after the statues on Professor's Square.
On Thursday 9 April (National Unicorn Day), at 1:00-3:00pm, we are hosting a public showcase of 'the making-of', featuring Tawona and the creative team live on stage, devising the play in front of our eyes and showing how it is all coming together.
You are warmly invited to join us and to bring friends, family and colleagues with a connection to the University. This is your chance to see the process of devising in action, to be part of the making of the play and to celebrate the occasion.
There is no need to register in advance. Just turn up.
