UofG finalists shine in Scottish Knowledge Exchange Awards

Multiple UofG projects and people were spotlighted at the 2026 Scottish Knowledge Exchange Awards, which were announced on 19 March. The awards celebrate outstanding partnerships between academia, business, the public sector and the third sector.
Our Living Laboratory was named a joint winner in the Place-based Impact category. The Living Lab has strengthened Glasgow's innovation economy since it was launched in 2020, connecting communities and learners to healthcare innovation and supporting improvements across healthcare delivery.
We were also shortlisted in the following categories
- Innovation of the Year – UofG had two nominations in this category. We collaborated with Seluna Ltd to develop a novel light-based wearable sensor for children, capable of capturing multiple physiological signals needed to diagnose sleep-disordered breathing at home. Our second project was a co-creation with Project HeritAIge of a free historical video game featuring St Giles' Cathedral in Edinburgh.
- Inward Investment Impact – a digital transformation project to help solve energy needs across the UK.
- Multiparty Collaboration – our Living Laboratory Radiogenomics project brings together the NHS, UofG and Canon Medical Research Europe to create a research database of lung cancer patients.
The awards event, held at the University of Stirling, brought together businesses, third-sector organisations, public bodies and academic institutions to celebrate collaborations that deliver economic, environmental and social benefits across Scotland.
