Events
If you are organising a one-off event that isn’t part of your usual working activities, it doesn’t need to be during the working day, or during the working week.
The Committee would recommend using University venues and catering, and preference will be given to events using UofG facilities. You can view the Consumption of alcohol during work-related social events policy on the P&OD web pages.
Do remember that if you are intending to organise an event off-campus for colleagues, then you should follow the relevant Procurement Policies.
The event can raise money for charity, as long as you are transparent with your income and expenditure, and there’s a clear paper trail.
The event can be open to staff, students and members of the public. Events do not need to be free.
The event can be part-funded by the Ferguson Bequest, and also receive other avenues of funding. Events can have an entry charge, or discounted rate fot staff.
Successful applicants will be required to provide a short statement of success and feedback of the funded specifics.
