RESEARCH INTEGRITY
Defining Research Integrity:
There is no single universal definition of research integrity, but there is strong and growing international alignment around core principles that underpin trustworthy, ethical research. Most frameworks emphasize that Research has Integrity when its carried out with Honesty, Accountability and Rigour, Fairness, Respect and Professionalism and Responsibility. How to ensure your research meets the terms above can be found within this useful infographic from UKRIO (UK Research Integrity Office)
Research Integrity at Glasgow
As a research-led institution, the University of Glasgow is committed to providing an environment that ensures our research is conducted to the highest quality standards. Central to this commitment is the development of an environment that recognises and supports research excellence. Our annual statements reflect how we try and implement best practice in this area.
When embarking on a new research collaboration or taking on new staff or students (who may be lacking in experience in these areas) it is important to ensure that everyone has the same expectations for good research practice. The Code of Good Practice in Research is intended for all staff, including persons with honorary positions, and students carrying out research at, or on behalf of, the University.
