Recharging the brand for a milestone year

The renowned ‘world-changing Glasgow’ brand has been elevated for 2026 in time for our 575th anniversary year, in conjunction with the appointment of Professor Andy Schofield as Principal and Vice Chancellor, and the launch of our new 10-year strategy.

To capture a milestone year marking the start of a new era, the UofG brand has been boldly recharged – with bright new colourways, revived messaging, and a 575-badge underpinning inspiring storytelling that celebrates change and legacy at this pivotal moment in our history.    

During a year profiling and celebrating the UofG community, the addition of ‘We are’ to the well-established ‘world-changing Glasgow’ message creates a sense of collective ownership: eliciting pride, and spotlighting the importance of togetherness, as we work towards future change – as outlined in our new strategy.

Additional call to actions and sub messages have been added to ‘We are world-changing Glasgow’ for a) student recruitment audiences, and b) our 575th anniversary, with more Toolkits for audiences launching throughout 2026. During a time when standing out in a competitive online marketplace is essential to the university’s continual success, we have boldened our palette, enhanced a well-known narrative, and utilised 575 as a unique proposition from which we can own the heritage narrative throughout 2026.  

Alongside the new colours, logo designs, and 575 badge, we are working to develop storytelling toolkits throughout 2026, enhancing the way we tell our brand story to different audiences, supported by training sessions and workshops. An animated version of the 575 badge for video and digital campaigns will also be available by mid-February.
