Research title: MSc in Cardiovascular Sciences as the masters taught component of the iPhD

Research Summary

My research uses large-scale health data from the UK Biobank, NHS Safe Haven, and the Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD) to investigate the epidemiology of haemoglobin concentration and its association with cardiometabolic outcomes and mortality across diverse populations. A major component of this work integrates high-throughput proteomics to identify biological pathways linked to variation in haemoglobin levels and to better understand the mechanisms underlying observed clinical risks. In parallel, I am involved in interventional research focused on haemoglobin and iron metabolism, including studies evaluating oral iron supplementation and iron deficiency indices. By combining population-based epidemiological analyses, proteomic profiling, and interventional studies, my research aims to improve understanding of haemoglobin-related risk and support more personalised and equitable approaches to clinical assessment.
