Research title: An Adult Education Approach to Understanding Masculinities in Pakistan
Research Summary
I am currently pursuing a PhD in Education and hold an International Master’s degree in Adult Education for Social Change. My interdisciplinary research draws on gender studies, education, and social justice frameworks to explore masculinities and gender-based violence prevention. My master’s dissertation examined the socio-cultural implications of toxic masculinity and adult education strategies, while my doctoral research continues this trajectory, examining masculinities in Pakistan and how educational interventions can reduce gender-based violence.
My research, located in gender studies and education, engages with masculinities, gender-based violence, rape culture, and educational transformation. More specifically, it examines how educational structures and practices can challenge harmful gender norms and advance social justice. My work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Gender and Social Issues, Postcolonial Directions in Education, and the Pakistan Journal of Social Research. Recent publications include “Rape and Culture of Silence in Pakistan” (2024) and “Problematising Rape Culture in Pakistan” (2023).
