Louise is a Phd researcher in intellectual property law, with a focus on patents. Louise is working on her thesis "Driving necessary innovation or Generally Inconvenient”: Do patents help or hinder meeting the challenges of modern global crises? What proposals, if any, might we make for change in the United Kingdom and in an international context?"

Additional Information

Louise is a Senior In-House Solicitor at the University of Glasgow, with broad experience in commercial and intellectual property law. Louise was previously a senior commercial lawyer in the IT & Technology sector. Louise has a particular interest in patent law, as well as software and technology matters, including AI. Louise was also previously a legal adviser to the HEI sector as a lawyer at a large Scottish law firm. 

 

Louise is a Group-Lead on the Association of University Legal Practitioners Research and Innovation Special Interest Group. The Association of University Legal Practitioners (AULP) is the association for in-house lawyers working in Higher Education.
