Postgraduate research students

My major research interest is Anglophone travel writing covering works from the late eighteenth century to the early twentieth century, with a special focus on regional imaginations, modernities, and cross-cultural communications. As research subjects, the travel writings I am currently studying primarily cover regions of the Mediterranean world from the late nineteenth to the early twentieth century, as well as China in the late Qing period.
