Hosting an Event at the ARC
Spaces
The following event spaces are available to UofG staff and research students for activity that enables and develops interdisciplinary research, innovation, and research-driven public engagement.
- Seminar suite: 237A, 237B, 237C
- Studio 2
- Exhibition space and atrium
- Seating area behind reception
The ARC Events and Engagement team also has oversight of activity programmed in St Mungo Square.

Criteria
In keeping with the ARC’s Mission and Vision, priority will be given to events that meet two or more of the following criteria:
- Bring together diverse disciplines, communities or perspectives to explore questions that can’t be addressed by one field/perspective alone.
- Experiment with new ideas, formats or ways of working, including creative, participatory or technology-enabled approaches.
- Create pathways to real-world impact, influencing policy, practice, enterprise or society.
- Support meaningful co-creation and inclusion, particularly with external partners and groups under-represented in research.
Events that are discipline-specific, or that have limited alignment to ARC priorities, are unlikely to be supported.
We do not host teaching, training courses, or regular meetings in these spaces.
Booking process
Please contact ARCEngage@gla.systa-s.com in the first instance, providing the following information so that we get an initial understanding of your requirements:
- Event title
- Short description of the nature of the event (max. 50 words)
- Preferred dates, and start and end times
- Alternative dates, if relevant
- Expected attendee numbers
- Preferred room layout
- Any displays/posters or sponsors associated with this event
If the event meets our criteria, full event information will be gathered through our proposal form.
Please do not complete this form until your event has been agreed with the ARC Engage team.
Your event booking is not confirmed until you have received an Outlook calendar notification from the ARC Engage team.
Please note that as the ARC’s event spaces are managed locally. The Central Timetable will only reflect bookings and availability for the coming month.
