Understanding how parents engage with the labour market when they have children who experience emotion-based school non-attendance
“Ghost Parents” is our term for carers who become socially, economically, and professionally excluded due to their child’s inability to attend school.
This project examines the challenges that “Ghost Parents” have in remaining in paid employment, identify how families are affected and explore how society is impacted when Ghost Parents leave work.
We are working with Lived Experience Experts (LEEs) to identify potential interventions that would make it easier for Ghost Parents to stay in or return to paid work.
