InFrame recently took part in the Institutional Reseach Culture Community (IRCC) Belfast Regional event, hosted by Studio Susegad, bringing together colleagues from across the UK and Ireland working at the forefront of research culture. The event created space for open, collaborative discussion around how research culture is experienced in practice, and how connection, care, and collegiality shape everyday research environments. InFrame shared emerging work on how these often intangible aspects of culture can be better understood and evidenced, particularly by paying attention to relationships, networks, and patterns of collaboration that sit beneath formal structures.

Engagement throughout the day highlighted strong sector-wide interest in approaches that help surface and articulate the relational dimensions of research culture. Conversations across sessions focused on knowledge exchange, collaboration across roles and institutions, and the importance of curiosity, reflection, and openness when navigating culture change. The event reinforced the value of creating spaces where learning can be shared honestly, even when work is still evolving, and where collective insight can inform more inclusive and connected research cultures. InFrame is grateful to Studio Susegad for facilitating such thoughtful dialogue and looks forward to building on these conversations in future cross-sector work.
