Innovation in pedagogy to enhance classroom practice Research Hub
The Innovation in Pedagogy to Enhance Classroom Practice CfTE Hub will support teachers in engaging with and conducting research on innovative pedagogies through collaborative professional dialogue and practitioner enquiry. The hub is grounded in the belief that pedagogic innovation emerges from sharing practice, responding to learner need, and researching practice in context. Its focus will be on the approaches, strategies and principles educators use to support learning for children and young people, with a clear emphasis on enhancing classroom practice.
The hub will work through a three-stage cyclical process of plan, do and review, with activity at each stage focused on both international research and rigorous teacher-led enquiry from Scottish contexts. A strong commitment to evidence-informed practice and meaningful sharing will be embedded throughout, supported by in-person, hybrid and online professional dialogues. These dialogues will model innovative approaches, support transparent decision-making, and enable the co-construction of outcomes. The overall aim is to build a collaborative network of teachers whose research engagement leads to real impact in classrooms, with knowledge regularly synthesised and shared through accessible, creative outputs such as workshops, conferences, multimedia resources and practical guides.
