Research interests
Having graduated in 2016 from Stirling University with BA (Hons) Education (Primary) with specialism in the Environment, Learning for sustainability has been a strong passion and area of focus within my practice and research. Alongside an evolving role as class teacher, Principal Teacher and Project Lead, I have undertaken Postgraduate study at The University of Edinburgh within Learning for Sustainability.
Over the past 10 years I have been developing LfS within my own practice, leading a whole approach to LfS, while working across authority as well as nationally to develop and embed LfS across Scotland’s schools. In 2021 I was recognised by Education Scotland for my leadership in developing a whole school approach to Learning for Sustainability (LfS) within my school. In 2024 I took on the role as Peer Mentor in Learning for Sustainability at Education Scotland, supporting practitioners on their journeys towards establishing effective whole setting approaches to Learning for Sustainability.
As part of my role at the centre, I can support practitioners as they look to engage in research and develop their practice within Learning for Sustainability. My areas of research are outdoor learning and interdisciplinary learning.
