CELLULAR ANALYSIS FACILITY FLUORESCENCE MICROSCOPE EQUIPMENT.
Various fluorescence microscopes ranging from epifluorescence to the latest super-resolution technology (confocal super-resolution imaging (~100 nm x-y), 3D SIM², SMLM-STORM/PALM) are based in the new Cellular Analysis Facility and can be booked after training by staff to support your fluorescence research work.

Outwith the Cellular Analysis Facility there is a LEICA SP8 confocal microscope (Bower building) which can perform conventional confocal and Life TIME (including FRET) fluorescence imaging. Email Prof Michael Blatt if you are interested in using the LEICA SP8 instrument:
The Ilan Davies group (Wolfson Link Building Lab 253) have a LEICA STELLARIS 8 confocal microscope equipped with a FALCON module to perform Fluorescence Life Time Imaging (FLIM) including FRET. The rig also has LIGHTNING DECONVOLUTION software to perform super resolution imaging. To enquire about their useage with training email Danail Stoychev. A range of fluorescence microscopes (epifluorescence & aperture correlation structured illumination) & plate readers (end point & kinetic assays) are based within Prof. Graeme Milligan's research group in the ARC building. EPIFLUORESCENCE/ APERTURE CORRELATION STRUCTURED ILLUMINATION FLUORESCENCE MICROSCOPES.
In the ARC building we have several non-laser epifluorescence microscopes plus an aperture correlation structured illumination spinning disk fluorescence microscope with deconvolution software algorithms to remove out of focus light to create images free from blur. FLUORESCENCE AND BIOLUMINESCENCE PLATE READERS.
Various plate readers (end point & kinetic assays) including an EVOS FL AUTO2 epifluorescence imaging station are available within the ARC building to perform a diverse range of assays (Fluorescence intensity - incl. FRET, Fluorescence polarization, Time-resolved fluorescence, TR-FRET AlphaScreen, Luminescence (flash and glow) - incl. BRET, UV/Vis absorbance spectra measurement).
