Academic Appeals Improvements
Published: 12 February 2026
From 13 February 2026, all academic appeals must be submitted through the UofG IT Helpdesk via an online form, no matter which College you’re in. That means there’s now one single place to submit your intention to appeal and your full appeal. This change is designed to make the process clearer, more consistent and support more timely responses for all students.
An academic appeal is when you ask the University to review a decision about your results, progression, or degree.
From the 13th of February 2026, all appeals must be submitted through the UofG IT Helpdesk via an online form, no matter which College you’re in.
That means there’s now one single place to submit your intention to appeal and your full appeal.
Nothing else about the appeals process is changing. The timelines and grounds for appeal all stay the same – this is simply about where you submit it.
Further details on the academic appeals process can be found on the University’s website, as well as the SRC website.
This change is designed to make the process clearer, more consistent and support more timely responses for all students, and is something the SRC has worked on with the University to improve the student experience.
If you need to submit an appeal, please use the Helpdesk form.
If you’re thinking of submitting an academic appeal, and would like some independent, free and confidential advice, you should get in touch with the SRC Advice Centre.
