Postgraduate research students

My research focuses on microbiome science and the discovery of natural products from extreme and understudied environments.

For my PhD, I am investigating the antimicrobial potential of seagrass microbiomes, a field increasingly challenged by climate change. The project combines classical microbiology, including microbial isolation and metagenomic profiling, with approaches such as natural language processing to improve and create new databases. Promising candidates will then undergo laboratory validation and predictive modelling to assess their antimicrobial efficacy.
