Aline Meyer Oliveira
I am a hydrologist interested in Forest-Water interactions. My research career has been built at the interface between hydrology, soil science, and vegetation, combining extensive fieldwork, stable water isotope analysis, remote sensing and hydrological modelling across contrasting climates. My PhD at the University of Zurich focused on the hydrological dynamics of seasonally flooded forests in Brazil, and in my current SNSF Postdoc Mobility fellowship based at the University of Glasgow, I am investigating drought effects on the water uptake of trees in temperate rainforests (study site: SCENE, in Scotland). My goal is to apply my expertise to address societal challenges and strengthen resilience to climatic extremes, including droughts and floods.
