Funding for Access to Higher Education

Fees

The total tution fee for the Access programme is £580.

You will be required to pay a £152 deposit in order to submit your application and confirm your place on the Access Programme. This  £152 deposit  goes towards the total tuition fee cost.

Once you have submitted your application, and your place on the Access Programme has been confirmed, you can pay your remaining balance of £428 through the finance tile in Applicant Self-service. You’ll receive access to Applicant Self-service through a link in your confirmation email. Please note that no outstanding balance will be shown, but any payment made will reduce the amount due at registration.

To make a payment in Applicant Self-service:

  1. Log in using the same credentials you used for your application
  2. Click on the Finance Tile
  3. Choose Make payment
  4. Enter amount you wish to pay under Payment Amount and click Confirm
  5. Enter personal and payment details and submit.

Alternatively, you can wait until you are invited to undertake Academic and Financial Registration to pay your outstanding balance. Academic and Financial Registration will open in August. Further information about the Registration and Enrolment process will be sent to you, via email, in August. N.B. You will not be able to complete Registration and Enrolment unless you have paid the full tuition fee balance.

Funding

If you earn £25,000 or less per annum and live in Scotland, you may be eligible for the Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS) Part-Time Fee Grant (PTFG) which will contribute £428 towards the cost of Access. For full details on the SAAS Part-time Fee Grant, visit the SAAS website.

If you are eligible, we would encourage you to apply for the SAAS PTFG as soon as possible, as you will need to have your funding secured before undertaking Financial Registration. You will be asked to provide your SAAS reference number at this stage in the process.

If you need more information on funding and using SAAS you can email our admin team at access@gla.systa-s.com.

Funding for students seeking asylum

If you are currently seeking asylum and do not have recourse to SAAS funding to cover course fees, you may be eligible for a place on Access through our fee-waiver scheme

Other funding sources

There may be other sources of support specific to your own personal circumstances (e.g. retraining schemes for people leaving the Armed Forces, employer sponsorship) and we may be able to accept these. Please contact us for advice at access@gla.systa-s.com

Self-funding

If you are not eligible for the Part Time Fee Grant, your fee must be paid in full on enrolment. We accept card payments only (Visa and Mastercard).

*includes deposit of £152.
